Based on a poem by Franz Kafka entitled "The Savages," this stop-motion animation follows a freak-show performance that takes a turn when the audience turns on the entertainers. My intention in this film was to call into question who the true savages are, those who are different, represented by the unusual performers in the show, or those considered “normal” who ostracize and bully those individuals, represented by the cockroaches with stolen faces. The creation of the film combining my love for film, visual arts, and literature.
Just when a helpless rat finds himself at the mercy of a rat trap, an eccentric woman comes to his aid. Nursing him back to health in a doll house, with the help of a little magic, she names him Victor. Now, Victor has everything he could ever want, but a shocking discovery turns his new home into a prison he must escape.
