Based on a Fable by Aesop that I was often told during my childhood, this painting is supposed to resemble an aged frescoes. To achieve this, I stretched the diptych canvases to be more architectural shape as well as adopted a more illustrative style.
Acrylic Interpretation of a Collage
Using organic images from National Geographic magazines, I created a collage as a reference for the final painting. Then I painted the different textures onto canvas to create my own magic realism scene.
Acrylic on Illustration Board
This painting was in response to the Parkland school shooting when every student wondered if they would be next. The painting was then printed on post cards to be sent the senators regarding gun control by Team ENOUGH, a student activist group.
Scale Oil Painting of my Childhood Bedroom Window
This is the scene that I see every morning, my desk, in which I spend my day on zoom classes, the various empty glasses, and kitten I found under a car about a month into quarantine. And While these tangible objects have occupied my time, the window behind has become my portal to the outside world, filling my room with light. Therefore I decided to duplicate it in life size to hang on the adjacent wall in my room.
Oil and Acrylic on Canvas
The foods depicted are all my favorite dishes that my mom makes and refers to as "Comfort Food." Every time I eat these foods it will always be reminded of home, no matter how far away I am.

Acrylic on Cardboard and Sculpey
Originally, this piece was supposed to be a light hearted representation of a crowd of people. However since entering quarantine almost immediately after finishing it, It has taken on a new meaning of anxiety being surrounded by people in a pandemic. The figures also bearing resemblance to personified germs.
Collage on Plaster Casts with Prose
Upon finding a collection of old family photographs, I became very interested in family traits and resemblance. This lead me to first write a letter style prose poem and then create the sculpture. The plaster casts are of my mother (top), father (bottom), brother (right), and myself (left), and are then covered in the photographs and handwriting of my ancestors.
Scale Model of my Dinning Room
Since quarantine, I have found my self spending the most amount of time with my family when we sit down every evening to have diner together. This seemingly mundane activity has become so meaningful to me as a positive moment in these trying times. Therefore I created an intimate portal to my family, contained in a 3' x 4' glass box in which I recreated my static dining room in miniature. I then recorded an average night with my family to project in the background to add life back into the space.
